I've been called “Happy” and “Smiley” at jobs I've had. It turns out some nicknames tell you quite a lot about a person.

I wanted this little corner of the internet to feel that way, too: a place for the work, with some room for the person making it.

My curiosity doesn't stay in one lane.

Sometimes that means connecting a keyboard to a game console. Sometimes it means putting a floor plan into mixed reality, or building a small tool to get a closer look at how something works.

You'll find a bit of software, a bit of hardware, and a few experiments here. The projects are the best introduction.

A note on the portraits

This site started with AI-generated placeholder portraits based on my own reference photos. The portraits you see now are from a real photo shoot, with the backgrounds removed. I'm gradually replacing the AI imagery with more real photography; generated project films and illustrations are labeled where they appear.
